Minutes read and accepted from the January 29, 2005; Treasurers reported accepted.

Marybeth thanked all for their dedication and hard work and commitment to the Trust. Reports from Committees followed.

Edward McCrerry: No Report given.

Publicity: Bob Carreau has renewed efforts in publicity. There has been a newsletter out every other month to keep people abreast. E-mail addresses are invited to submit for the mailing and Bob will post the SLCT meetings so that people will be informed. The Secretary will e-mail minutes to Bob for posting as well commencing with this correspondence.

Scout Program: Bob Wnek reported that all scouts have used Land Trust property for training and camping. Eagle Scout projects have been completed over the year.

Nicholdale Farm: Report from Bruce Nichols stated that the property is in good shape. Not too many ATVs. Scouts fencing project a possibility. Roll call was taken.

There was a guest speaker from Weir Farm. His name is Greg Waters. He is the Natural Resource Manager and Horticultrist at Weir Farm. Mr. Waters presented a very informative slide show presentation on Invasive Plants. The presentation discussed the problems, definitions, statistics, impacts, causes, and characteristics of invasive plants. The attendees at the meeting appeared to find the topic very informative. A question and answer discussion period followed.

There was a ten-minute break for refreshments.

Meeting was called back to session where Joe Welch received the President position and presided over the meeting. There were thank you presentations made to both Marybeth Banks for faithfully serving the Shelton Land Trust for twenty years as well as to Marge Estock for faithfully serving the Shelton Land Trust for over ten years of service to the Land Trust. Paul Uhrynowski has filled the position.

Nominations of the 2005 Board Members were read and accepted. (See New Board Members list in its entirety attached to this report).

Old Business: President, Joe Welch reported that the Land Trust has had great years of effort and we are at a good 350 acres of land. The President has written up a Shelton Land Trust Goals and Ideas for 2005, which is also attached to this report. Our Land Trust is encouraged to set goals. Fundraising is a big part from both individuals and businesses, i.e., the grant that was received by the work of Joe Welch and Bruce Nichols from Iroquois. The SLCT will pursue Fish and Wildlife Service and USDA National Resource grants as well with the maintenance of stewardship of the land as our mission.

New Business: President, Joe Welch encouraged the audience to get out a little more i.e., Shelton Day to enhance the work of the Shelton Land Trust.
